Confirmation
Confirmation is the occasion when those who have been baptised are now
considered old enough to make their own decisions about making a
commitment to the Christian faith. At Confirmation, the promises made
by parents and Godparents on behalf of a child at baptism are renewed.
This is an important step in any person's life.
Our Junior Confirmation Group will be starting soon
. We are again planning a very exciting programme and we believe that, apart from learning about the Christian faith, the children will have a good time and make new friends.
For those wanting to know more about confirmation, there will be an
Introduction Evening at St Oswald's Parish Centre, Preesall on Tuesday 6th March at 7.00 p.m. The Junior Confirmation Group will then meet most weeks until the Confirmation service in May.
Please note that if your child has not been baptised yet, then baptism can be arranged during the period of preparation.
Regular church attendance is an important part of preparation for Confirmation, and you are welcome to come along with your child to any service.
Adults will be prepared for Confirmation in a series of discussion groups.
Whatever age, if you are interested in Confirmation in 2012, please contact
