The Over-Wyre Group of Churches
There are six Anglican churches in the Over Wyre area:- Preesall, St. Oswald; Hambleton, The Blessed Virgin Mary; Out Rawcliffe, St. John; Pilling, St. John the Baptist; Eagland Hill, St. Mark; and Stalmine, St. James.
In 2000, the six churches became two united benefices:- Preesall, Hambleton, and Out Rawcliffe in the care of Reverend Stephen Grey (the benefice is also now vacant), and Pilling, Eagland Hill and Stalmine with the Reverend George Billington (now retired).
The Mission Statement of the group is:- "To glorify God and serve the community together, in the Name of Jesus Christ".
Representatives of the churches meet together to plan joint services and social events and to examine ways in which to support each other and serve the community.
Information about future plans is reported in the publications of each church.
